Water-based Release Agent for PC Precast Components PC Series  (Concentrated)

This release agent is a new, environmentally friendly, water-based product developed specifically for the emerging field of prefabricated PC construction in China; Using this release agent ensures smooth separation of concrete from the mold during demolding, maintaining the integrity of the concrete shape and preventing damage to the mold. The surface of the demolded concrete products has virtually no air bubbles, achieving a finish comparable to exposed concrete. With a smooth texture, it is the top choice for high-quality cement product projects.

Product Characteristics

Appearance: Yellowish-brown oily liquid

Application: Suitable for demolding precast concrete (PC) components

Ingredients: Demolding oil, release agent, surfactant

pH: 7–9

Water Dilution Ratio: Use 6–10 times the volume of water for composite slabs; use 4–5 times the volume of water for irregular components such as stair treads and wall panels

Coverage: The diluted emulsion covers 15–20 m²/kg

Storage: Must be stored indoors in a cool, shaded area; avoid exposure to direct sunlight or rain

Instructions for Use

1. This product must be diluted with tap water; do not use groundwater. The dilution ratio is 4–10 times. Conduct a small-scale test before dilution to determine the optimal ratio;

2. When diluting, first add a small amount of water (approximately 1 part water) to the release agent, stir gently, and let it soak to ensure the release agent and water are fully blended;

3. Repeat step 2 until all remaining water has been added, stirring evenly as you add water, until the release agent no longer appears as oily particles in the water;

4. If the release agent is not used for an extended period (more than 12 hours) after dilution, stir it thoroughly before use to ensure the uniformity of its active ingredients;

5. When using the release agent in winter, lower temperatures can reduce the emulsion’s adhesion to the mold surface. Combined with significant day-night temperature fluctuations, this can lead to sticking. To address this, make the following adjustments: slightly reduce the water-to-release agent ratio; for example, if the original ratio was 1:8, try adjusting it to 1:6 or 1:5; Mix the solution using hot water at 70–80°C to ensure the release agent and water blend thoroughly and evenly. If the sticking issue persists, check whether there have been changes to the concrete mix design, such as adjustments to the water-reducing agent, cement, sand, and aggregate ratios, component strength, or steam curing time.

Application Method

1. Thoroughly clean any concrete residue from the surface of the formwork (concrete residue can absorb the release agent, causing it to fail);

2. Mix according to the specified water-to-agent ratio. Spray the water-based release agent emulsion onto the formwork surface using a sprayer, then use a sponge mop or cloth mop to evenly apply the emulsion across the formwork surface;

3. Once the release agent has air-dried and formed a film (indicated by the disappearance of the milky white appearance), concrete can be poured.
