High-Temperature Release Agent for Sand Molds and Cores (for Turbine Casings)
- Commodity name: High-Temperature Release Agent for Sand Molds and Cores (for Turbine Casings)
- Product description
-
Applications: Quartz sand molds/cores + phenolic resin; demolding at approximately 250°C; does not affect the adhesion of alcohol-based coatings
1. Product Identification
• Product Name: High-Temperature Mold and Core Release Agent
• Applications: Sand molds and cores for automotive turbine housings (primarily quartz sand + phenolic resin binder)
• Typical Conditions: Hot demolding at 200–280°C, suitable for subsequent application of alcohol-based suspension coatings
• Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid
• Odor: Slight odor
2. Typical Properties
• Operating Temperature: Short-term temperature resistance ≥ 280°C
• Film-forming Characteristics: Forms a thin film; does not stick to sand, does not clump, and does not contaminate the mold cavity
• Adhesion: Excellent adhesion to sand particles and metal molds; does not easily wash off
• Coating Compatibility: Does not affect the wetting, adhesion, or sintering bond of alcohol-based refractory coatings
• Demolding Force: Significantly reduces adhesion between sand cores/molds and metal or resin interfaces
• Stability: Remains uniform without separation during storage at room temperature
3. Product Features
1. Excellent high-temperature resistance; does not carbonize, gel, or leave carbon residue under 250°C operating conditions
2. Smooth demolding reduces defects such as core tearing, chipping, and mold adhesion
3. Thin-film formulation; does not compromise mold strength or block sand pores
4. Excellent compatibility with alcohol-based suspension coatings; no repulsion, pinholes, or adhesion issues
5. Easy to use; can be sprayed, brushed, or wiped on
6. Free of silicone-based components prone to excessive migration, preventing coating defects
4. Scope of Application
• Quartz sand molds and cores (phenolic resin-coated sand / hot-box cores / cold-box cores)
• Sand molds for automotive turbine housings, exhaust pipes, and housing-type castings
• Hot demolding processes at 200–280°C
• Sand mold surfaces requiring subsequent application of alcohol-based refractory coatings
5. Application Instructions
1. Clean the surface of the sand mold/core to remove loose sand and dust
2. This product is ready to use; apply a thin, even coat to the mold cavity and mating surfaces (can be diluted with water at a ratio of 10–15:1)
3. Allow to air dry naturally or dry in a low-temperature oven before closing the mold and pouring
4. It is recommended to apply multiple thin coats to avoid localized thick buildup and sagging
5. Store in a sealed container after opening to prevent evaporation
6. Physical Properties (Typical Values)
• Appearance: Clear to slightly yellow liquid
• Solubility: Highly soluble in water
• Film-forming Properties: Forms a uniform film
• Storage Stability: Store sealed in a cool place for ≥12 months
7. Packaging and Storage
• Packaging: 25 kg/200 kg sealed drums
• Storage: Store in a cool, well-ventilated, dry place, away from sources of fire, heat, and oxidizing agents
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and high temperatures
• Shelf life: 12 months when sealed
8. Precautions
1. This product is flammable; keep away from open flames, static electricity, and high-temperature heat sources
2. Ensure the work area is well-ventilated; wear gloves and safety goggles
3. Avoid prolonged skin contact; wash immediately if product comes into contact with skin
4. Do not ingest; keep out of reach of children
5. It is recommended to conduct a small-scale test application before use to verify coating adhesion and release properties.
