KG Series Water-based Release Agent

The KG Series water-based product series,  consists of new, environmentally friendly water-based release agents developed specifically for China’s emerging prestressed prefabricated construction industry. When used during formwork removal, these release agents ensure that the concrete separates smoothly from the formwork, preserving the concrete’s shape and leaving the formwork undamaged. The surface of the concrete products after demolding is virtually free of air bubbles, achieving a finish comparable to exposed concrete, with a smooth texture. This makes them the top choice for high-quality cement product projects.

Product Characteristics

Appearance: Yellowish-brown to dark brown oily liquid

Applications: PC precast components

Composition: Modified polymer, release agent, surfactant

pH: 7–10

Coverage: When diluted with water (3–5 times), it covers 10–12 square meters per kilogram

Storage: Must be stored in a cool place; avoid direct sunlight or exposure to rain

2. Mix according to the specified dilution ratio, then apply the release agent emulsion to the mold surface using a paint roller or spray;

3. Wipe the mold surface with a damp cloth lightly moistened with the release agent emulsion to ensure even coverage;

4. Once the release agent has air-dried and formed a film, concrete can be poured.

Instructions for Use

Determine the water-to-product ratio;

1. This product must be diluted with water at a ratio of 3–5 parts water to 1 part product. Conduct a small-scale test before dilution, then mix and let it soak to ensure the release agent fully blends with the water;

2. When diluting, first add a small amount of water (approximately half the required amount) to the release agent and stir gently

3. Repeat step 2 until all remaining water has been added, stirring evenly as you go, until the release agent no longer appears granular in the water;

4. If the release agent remains unused for an extended period (more than 12 hours) after mixing with water, stir it thoroughly before use to ensure the uniformity of its active ingredients;

5. When using the release agent in winter, lower temperatures can reduce the adhesion of the release agent emulsion to the mold surface. Combined with significant day-night temperature fluctuations, this can easily lead to sticking. Therefore, the following adjustments can be made: Appropriately reduce the water-to-release agent ratio; for example, if the original ratio was 1:5, try adjusting it to 1:3 or 1:4. Use hot water at 70–80°C for mixing to ensure the release agent and water blend thoroughly and evenly; If the sticking issue persists, check whether there have been changes to the concrete mix design, such as adjustments to the water-reducing agent, the proportions of cement, sand, and aggregate, the strength of the components, or the steam curing time.
