The KY series, consists of new, environmentally friendly oil-based release agents developed specifically for China’s emerging prestressed prefabricated construction industry. Currently, most water-based release agents on the market leave a small amount of concrete powder adhering to the formwork after demolding, requiring manual cleaning of the formwork before each concrete pour—a process that is not only labor-intensive but also causes damage to the formwork. The KY series perfectly addresses this issue. When using this release agent, concrete separates smoothly from the formwork during demolding, ensuring the concrete retains its shape and the formwork remains undamaged. The surface of the concrete products after demolding has virtually no air bubbles, significantly improving upon the drawbacks of ordinary oil-based release agents—such as color variation and honeycomb defects—and achieving an exposed concrete finish. It is particularly suitable for formwork used in assembly line operations.
Product Characteristics
Appearance: Pale yellow to yellowish-brown translucent liquid
Applications: PC precast components, utility tunnel components, highway bridges, and other cement products
Ingredients: Imported release oil, separating agent, surfactant
pH: 7–10
Coverage: 10–12 square meters/kg
Storage: Must be stored indoors in a cool, shaded area; keep away from open flames, direct sunlight, and rain
Instructions for Use
1. This product should be applied by brushing or atomized spraying; do not dilute with water, as this may cause an increase in honeycomb voids on the component surface;
2. Ensure the release agent is evenly distributed across the formwork surface; do not apply too thick a coat;
3. When using a spray tool, adjust the spray nozzle for optimal results;
4. When using in winter, if bubbles increase on the component surface, try applying the release agent 12 hours before pouring concrete to allow sufficient time for it to air-dry and form a film.
Application Method
1. Clean the formwork surface thoroughly;
2. Apply the release agent to the formwork surface using a paint roller or by spraying;
3. Wipe the formwork surface with a damp cloth lightly moistened with oil-based release agent to ensure even coverage;
4. Pour the concrete once the release agent has air-dried and formed a film.
